Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are set to finally meet in a highly anticipated all-British heavyweight showdown on December 11 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
The blockbuster bout is expected to take place in the early hours of Saturday in the United Kingdom, with organisers reportedly considering a late start to accommodate television audiences in the United States.
According to BBC Sport, Joshua and Fury will come face-to-face at a press conference on September 30 as preparations for the long-awaited fight officially get underway.
The contest is being promoted through a collaboration between Saudi boxing power broker Turki Alalshikh’s The Ring and UFC president Dana White.
Alalshikh described the fight as a historic heavyweight encounter involving two of the leading fighters of their generation.
“Two of the best heavyweights of this generation, finally in the ring together,” he said.
“This will be one of the biggest fights in boxing history. I am very happy to make this fight happen for the fans.”
The December 11 clash will mark the latest chapter in the careers of two of Britain’s most prominent heavyweight boxers, with both Joshua and Fury having previously held world heavyweight titles.
