The leadership-sharing formula between defectors and existing members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State remains 60/40, according the National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.

In January, Governing Abba Yusuf resigned from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), under which banner he contested the 2023 election, and moved to the APC, along with 22 members of the state House of Assembly.

According to a statement in Kano on Monday by Yilwatda’s spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, the APC helmsman visited the governor and praised the unity and support shown by the party members in the state, describing the turnout at a meeting as impressive and indicative of the party’s strength in the state.

He commended key party leaders, including a former deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Yusuf Gawuna and Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin for supporting Yusuf’s vision, and a former APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje for his invaluable contributions to the party’s growth.

Yusuf thanked the APC leadership for the visit, reaffirming his commitment to working with the party to promote unity and prosperity in the state, and aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
