The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the reopening of its electronic membership registration exercise nationwide from 31 August 2026 ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party said the exercise would be conducted across all wards in the country, allowing existing members to validate their membership while new and intending members would also have the opportunity to register.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, urged party leaders, stakeholders, supporters and members to actively participate in the exercise.
According to Morka, the initiative is aimed at digitising the party’s membership register, improving the integrity of membership records and making membership data more accessible for planning and management purposes.
“The E-Registration Exercise is designed to digitise the Party’s membership register, ensure the integrity of membership records, enhance efficient access to membership data for planning and management decisions, promote internal democracy, and strengthen the Party’s commitment to democratic innovation in Nigeria,” he said.
The APC added that all prospective registrants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN) to take part in the exercise.
The nationwide registration is expected to provide the ruling party with an updated and digitised membership database as it begins preparations for the 2027 general elections.
