The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the ongoing governorship election campaign in honour of the late Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Dr. AbdulRahman Ado Ibrahim.
In a letter to members of the Ododo/Oyibo Campaign Council on Sunday, the Secretary of the party’s Campaign Council, Ozigi Salami said: “This is to bring to the notice of all directorates, support groups and teeming supporters of the Ododo/Oyibo project and the general public that the Ododo/Oyibo Campaign Council has decided to suspend all political activities in Kogi Central Senatorial District to honour the demise of our revered king, Dr. Ado Ibrahim, who God Almighty has called to eternal rest”.
The paramount ruler of Ebiraland died in the early hours of last Sunday at the age of 95.
He was coronated in 1997 by the then Governor Abubakar Audu.
He took over from Sanni Omolorim, who reigned between 1957 and 1997.
