The immediate past Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, on Saturday, disclosed plans to devote more time to politics.
The ex-Osun State governor also commended the state government for keeping the state safe, which he said had encouraged social interactions amongst the residents.
Aregbesola, who spoke at a grand luncheon held in his honour in Osogbo on Saturday, said all activities organised to welcome him back to the state after completing his tenure as a minister had been held in a peaceful atmosphere.
On his plan for the future, Aregbesola said he would devote more time to politics, adding that he would soon embark on a statewide tour to meet his people.
He added: “Osun State Government, despite the fact that we belong to different parties, they were not scared to allow us to hold our events. They received us with love and joy. No problem whatsoever. No firing of gunshots. We were not subjected to any form of intimidation. We appreciate the state government.
“Now, I am back to full politics. I will devote more time to politics. We will start moving around our communities to sensitise our people.”
The chairman of the programme’s planning committee and former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Dr Najeem Salaam, lauded Aregbesola’s leadership qualities.
