Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has wished Thomas Frank well for the future, after he was sacked by English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday morning.

Frank has been dismissed by the Gunners’ north London rivals following a poor run.

Spurs currently occupy 16th position, having won only two games in their last 17 league fixtures.

Amid the growing threat of relegation, Tottenham have decided to part ways with Frank after eight months in charge.

If he wasn’t fired, Arteta would have come up against him in the North London Derby on 22 February.

Arteta said: ‘Well, it’s obviously very sad news when you have a colleague that doesn’t continue doing his job, because Thomas is an excellent coach, and an extraordinary man as well – and he’s proven that in the league.

‘We know where we are, and how our responsibility is beyond just performance, and I wish him all the very best with whatever he decides to do next’.
