Billionaire entrepreneur, Dr. Benard Omoyeni is 54.
The enowned environmental scientist and author continues to influence Nigeria’s international trade relations through Palmadex Group, a non oil export company, and currently one of Africa’s most impactful businessmen.
Omoyeni, who clocks 54 on 1 July, 2025, continues to extend his legacy far beyond export and environmental science. Over the years, he has transformed into a national philanthropist, engaging several corporate social responsibilities, and distributing his immense wealth to tackle society’s pressing challenges.
As GodsPowerProject joins the nations of the earth to celebrate Omoyeni today, Deji Obasa takes a closer look at the success and leadership traits that make him such a powerful personality.
The birth of an entrepreneur
Imagine a young active primary school graduate, leaving his hometown in Ondo state to pick up a factory job at the weaving section of the Nigerian Textile Mills in Lagos, and later a stint as a factory hand in the Kaolin Milling Section at Kavitex Industries.
That was Omoyeni in 1990, a farm boy who weathered economic storms and developed an “I-Must-Succeed-in-Life” mentality, which helped him proceed to the Federal University of Technology in Akure to bag a Bachelor of Technology degree in Fisheries and Wildlife in April 1997. He later obtained a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Maiduguri in 2001.
These were followed by a 2004 Master of Science degree in Environmental Management from the Federal University of Agriculture in Abeokuta, and a Master of Science degree in Geographic Information System from the University of Ibadan in 2005.
A city set on s hill, and light of the world
As soon as Omoyeni observed the mandatory National Youth Service Scheme at the Federal College of Freshwater Fisheries Technology, Baga, between 1998 and 1999, he was retained by the same institution to serve in various capacities; as Lecturer, Head of Departments and Acting Provost, between 1999 and 2005.
His major turning point was in 2005 when he got a job with a major multinational.
Ever since then, he became more compassionate about people’s concern; funding scholarships, supporting business owners and engaging in “Kingdom investments”.
In 2015, he founded Palmadex Global Integrated Services (now Palmadex Group), a multi-award winning non-oil export company
Together with his younger brother, Dr. Patrick Omoyeni, the senior Omoyeni spotted a world-changing opportunity.
In an era when oil was the major export, reserved for corporations and government agencies, he made a daring move: to make export accessible to everyone trading non oil commodities.
What began as a passion to empower Nigerians soon transformed into a global powerhouse. Under Omoyeni’s leadership, Palmadex has grown multiple portfolios, that revolutionized the export industry and made international trade acceptable to the masses.
Palmadex Group was not just a business; it was the realisation of a Divine vision to affect the world through trade.
In the words of Dr. Patrick Omoyeni, the Operations Manager at Palmadex Group, ‘Dr. Benard Omoyeni always keeps his eyes on excellence. He instils integrity, probity and hardwork in all his staff, younger siblings and everyone who looks up to him. He is a cheerful giver with a heart of gold.
