Nigerian chef, Damilola Adeparusi (popularly known as Chef Dammy) has been reportedly arrested by the police over a petition written by her former pastor, Adegoke Jeremiah (better known as Billion Dollars Prophet).

Chef Dammy was said to have been arrested by men of Zone 17, Akure, which covers Ondo and Ekiti states, and is led by AIG Ebong Eyibio Ebong.

The news of the chef’s arrest was shared by a human rights advocate, Oluyemi Fasipe, in an X post on Thursday evening.

Fasipe wrote that he had information that Chef Dammy was arrested by the police for a petition against her by her pastor. He also expressed concern about the possibility of the chef’s rights being abused at the police station, which he claimed had a history of extremely corrupt practices.

“I have information that Chef Dammy has been arrested by men of the @PoliceNG AIG zone 17 in Akure for a petition against her by her pastor.

“That police station has a history of extremely corrupt practices and I am speaking from personal experience.

“I urge the families of Chef Dammy to speak out in case the right of Dammy is abused at any point.”

Fasipe tagged the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, to the post.

It was reported that Chef Dammy and Billion Dollars Prophet have been at loggerheads since she embarked on a 120-hour cooking marathon in June.

The chef accused the pastor of being behind the sabotage of her attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual. She also alleged that the pastor had been harassing and threatening her ever since.

In October, Chef Dammy set social media abuzz when she posted on Instagram that the pastor should be held responsible if anything happened to her.

A week later, Billion Dollars Prophet threatened to sue her for defamation if she did not retract her statement and pay N22 million in damages. Hours after the threat, Chef Dammy also published a pre-litigation letter threatening to counter-sue the pastor.

The arrest of Chef Dammy has sparked outrage and sympathy from her fans and supporters, who have taken to social media to demand her release and justice.

Some of them have also accused the pastor of using his influence and connections to intimidate and silence the chef. They have called on the authorities to intervene and ensure that the chef’s rights are protected and that the matter is resolved amicably.
