English Premier League side Chelsea have announced their first signing of the transfer window under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Although the Blues had welcomed Christopher Nkunku to the club earlier, the agreement for his transfer was reached during the winter transfer window.
Senegalese Nicholas Jackson, 22, who was born in The Gambia, is officially Pochettino’s first signing, as he joins from Villarreal.
Jackson signed an eight-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues’ co-sporting directors, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, said: “We are excited to welcome Nicolas to Chelsea.
“He is a young player with big potential, as he showcased for Villarreal last season.
“We believe he is ready for this next step in his career and look forward to him working with our new head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, and his Chelsea teammates.”
