The parish priest of St Jude Catholic Church, GRA Effurun, Delta State, Very Rev. Fr. Mark Ikeke has extolled the leadership virtues of the Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege.
Senator Omo-Agege, who is also the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in next year’s election, joined other parishioners at Mass on Sunday.
The cleric lauded the lawmaker for impacting positively on the lives of his immediate constituency in Delta Central and influencing projects to other senatorial districts of the state.
He commended Omo-Agege for breaking the jinx of not only being the first Urhobo Senator to be reelected, but also as the first from the area to become the nation’s No 5 Citizen.
Prof. Ikeke submitted that Omo-Agege possesses rare leadership qualities among his peers.
While urging those in authority not to deprive others of their rights, Fr Ikeke commended the governorship candidate for his political strides in the state, noting that he has positively impacted the lives of his constituents and other parts of the state.
Reading from Romans 8:31 and Psalm 127, the cleric said that prayers alone can not win man’s battles.
“You cannot run away from life battles. You must confront them. It is always better to confront life’s battles”, he admonished.
