Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and his wife, Chioma Rowland, have arrived in Miami, United States, ahead of their much-anticipated white wedding.

The singer had in April announced plans to hold the ceremony in August, although he did not disclose the exact date.

In a video posted to his Instagram story on Wednesday, the couple were seen boarding a private jet decorated with floral arrangements and a chair bearing the inscription ‘MRS’, hinting at the bridal celebrations to come.

Davido also shared a photo of himself with the location tagged as Miami.

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, who is also the singer’s uncle, has travelled to the United States to attend the event.

Olawale Rasheed, spokesperson to the governor, confirmed his trip in a statement issued on Tuesday, following concerns raised by the opposition All Progressives Congress over his whereabouts.

Although the couple have not officially announced a date, reports suggest the ceremony is scheduled to hold on Saturday.

Davido proposed to Chioma in 2019, but the relationship experienced turbulence in 2021 following reports of the singer’s alleged involvement with another woman.

The couple suffered a tragic loss in October 2022 when their first son, Ifeanyi, drowned at a residence in Lagos.

In March 2023, Davido revealed they had legally tied the knot. They later welcomed a set of twins in the United States in October 2023.

Their traditional wedding ceremony was held in Lagos in June 2024.

Davido recently caused a stir online after claiming that Chioma’s wedding ring was worth the equivalent of ‘two or three Rolls-Royce motor cars’.
