A new direct flight route between Tunisia and Nigeria is expected to be operational by 2026. This move aims to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance connectivity between the two countries. Currently, flights between Tunisia and Nigeria are mainly operated by non-African airlines, with Royal Air Maroc being one of the few African airlines offering a connecting flight between the two countries via Casablanca.
The introduction of direct flights will significantly reduce travel time and make business, tourism, and cultural exchanges more convenient. The main airports involved will likely be Tunis-Carthage International Airport in Tunisia and Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria. Several airlines, including Tunisair, Air France, Turkish Airlines, NouvelAir, and Lufthansa, are already popular on this route, indicating a strong demand for more efficient travel options.
The new direct flights are part of a broader strategy to boost economic cooperation and ease of travel across Africa, fostering more direct connections between key cities on the continent.
