Don’t panic over gunshots, Army tells Kaduna residents

The Nigerian Defence Academy on Monday urged residents of Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya, and Afaka general areas in Kaduna State, not to panic over the sound of gunshots in the communities.

The Academy’s Public Relations Officer, Major Victor Olukoya stated this in a statement released to journalists in Kaduna on Monday.

The statement is titled, ‘Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) is scheduled to hold range exercise for cadets of Direct Short Service Course 27 (Army) and 31 (Air Force) from 19th to 22nd June 2023.’

Olukoya said that NDA would conduct Range Exercise for Cadets of Direct Short Service Course 27 Army and 31 Airforce at NDA open range Afaka.

He added that the exercise was expected to begin from 19th to 22nd June.

“Consequently, inhabitants of Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya, and Afaka general area are advised to stay clear of the range area and not to panic on hearing the sound of gunshots during the period of the exercise”, he said.
