Paul Pogba is expected to return to playing professional football after his ban of four years was reduced to 18 months.
Pogba was banned from football by Italy’s anti-doping tribunal after testing positive for testosterone last August.
However, in a new development, the French midfielder will now return to football by March 2025 after a successful appeal.
As per Daily Mail, in CAS’ final judgement it was confirmed that Pogba did inadvertently take DHEA, a substance that boosts testosterone that is on WADA’s banned list.
Crucially, however, the ruling states that DHEA only has an affect on females.
Pogba’s appeal took place at CAS’ HQ in Switzerland at the end of August and the player has only recently been informed of the verdict.
The 31-year-old can start training with Juventus in January and then would be allowed to play official matches by March.
His original €5,000 (£4176) fine has also been set aside.
The original suspension commenced on September 11, 2023.
