The Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Highest Goal Scorer of the inaugural Dozy Mmobuosi-NPFL Super Cup invitational tournament will each be rewarded with N1 million, the organisers have revealed.
The tournament, which will have Enyimba, Shooting Stars Sports Club, Bendel Insurance and Rangers as participants, holds from 1st to 4th December at the Mobalaji Stadium Complex, Onikan, Lagos.
Tingo Media’s Ebuwa Martins Agbonwaneten said that Dozy Mmobuosi Foundation is using the tournament to showcase what it has to offer to the development of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
“For us, this is a test run, a kind of prelude to what we will be doing in the years ahead in partnership with the NPFL.
“We are aiming for the very best hence we have lined up juicy prizes for those who will excel and the ₦1 million prizes for the MVP and Highest Goal Scorer is to get the best out of the individual ability of the players”, Agbonwaneten said.
Two of the invited four teams have already written to confirm their participation. In his response to the invitation, Chairman of Enyimba, Chief Felix Anyansi Agwu said “Enyimba is pleased to accept the invitation and will be showcasing our best players at the tournament “.
Secretary of Bendel Insurance, Mr Charles Ihimekpen also wrote to accept the invitation and expressed the club’s readiness to participate.
