Super Falcons midfielder Jennifer Echegini began her PSG career on Tuesday with optimism following her transfer from Juventus in July.
The 23-year-old, who had a disappointing outing with Nigeria at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France, issued a statement on her Instagram fan page after her first training session with the Première Ligue club on Tuesday.
“Back from the Olympics and hitting the ground running with her new club. Excited for the next chapter”, wrote the player who spent her youth career at SCE Nijmegen, Charlton Athletic, Millwall, and Arsenal before she joined Juventus on 4 January 2024, signing a multi-year contract through June 2026.
She scored 10 goals in 16 matches before leaving the Italian giants in July for PSG, signing a three-year contract until June 2027.
She celebrated the move in a statement following her unveiling on 10 July.
“Today is a great moment in my career. Signing for Paris Saint-Germain is an immense source of pride. I’m very proud to be joining a club recognised around the world for its ambition and excellence. I can’t wait to get started, and I can’t wait to give my all to try and win as many trophies as possible, with my teammates and for the fans”, she stated, as cited on the club’s official website.
