Edo 2024: Oshiomhole driven by third term agenda

There can only be one reason why Adams Oshiomhole is shamelessly trying so very hard to impose a complete mediocre who does not know the difference between a Zoo and a Museum on the good people of Edo State as their next governor – it is greed and selfishness. A Third Term Agenda. That’s all. Not love for the people of Edo State.

A man with a conscience would ordinarily break down in complete shame and tears after reviewing the video footage of Tuesday’s Edo South Campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benin City. It beats one’s imagination that Oshiomhole and a host of other leaders of the party could be listening with bated breath to the ramblings they call a political address from the APC guber candidate, Monday Okpebholo. It speaks volumes about the party in question. Certainly, APC is not it. It does not have the interest of the people at heart.

As Okpebholo held the microphone, you could see anxiety and trepidation written all over the faces of the people on the platform with him. Oshiomhole, in particular, could be seen in total discomfiture. An eloquent testimony to the fact that he has no confidence in the person he’s aggressively pushing forward for the good people of Edo State to vote for as their next governor. Yet, he must do it anyway. And the reason can only be because of his Third Term Agenda by a pliable proxy.

Imagine Okpebholo saying Benin City was founded in 1972. A governorship candidate. Imagine Okpebholo whipping out a piece of paper from his pocket just to steal a glance at what he had been taught to say. Imagine Okpebholo talking about Cooperative Societies like talking about Rocket Science. A governorship candidate? No, it should not be in Edo State.

How on earth did APC get stuck with an Okpebholo? What magic did he use, what bewitchment did he apply? A governorship candidate that’s so flat, so ordinary, so dull, so drab and so uninspiring? Every sentence was out of place and point.

Yet Oshiomhole wants him to be the next governor of Edo State. Why? How did he come to this conclusion? Was he under the influence of any substance or was he bought? Was he hypnotized or cajoled? Apparently no! He only wanted Okpebholo because he can be manipulated. He fits perfectly the role of a puppet. He can be asked to sit down and he would do it without questions. He has even given indications that he would rather serve the ‘party leaders’ than the people.

So, only greed and selfishness fueled by opportunism to have a Third Term can be the plausible reasons for Oshiomhole to be driving so hard the Okpebholo project. Oshiomhole has seen an opportunity to continue to play the puppeteer and be the de facto governor of Edo State. It is Oshiomhole’s Third Term Agenda. And Edo people will not allow Oshiomhole to have his way. Edo people no go gree!
