Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s efforts and support for the growth of the medical facility have been praised by the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH).

The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Kayode Olabanji, who gave the commendation during the institution’s 15th anniversary, said Oyebanji had shown commitment to health care service delivery.

He said efforts of the governor geared towards the promotion of Ekiti people’s health status and well-being were worthy of commendation, adding that the tertiary hospital had become a tourist centre for people seeking medical care.

He listed health sector interventions by the governor in recent times including face-lifting of the hospital, provision of modern equipment such as computerised photography scans, endoscopy, digital X-rays, and approval of hazard allowance for health workers.

“We want to appreciate Governor Oyebanji for reaching out to our hospital within the short time of coming to office.

“The governor has approved hazard allowance for health workers and allowance for trainee doctors, who aspire to be specialists.’

Prof. Olabanji hailed the giant strides recorded by EKSUTH since its creation in 2008, saying the hospital had carved a niche for itself in healthcare services.
