Badmus insisted that she remained committed to supporting Tinubu despite the criticism, maintaining that individuals had the democratic right to support whichever political candidate they preferred.
“The only reason they come at me is just that I support the president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. And whether you like it or not, on that mandate, me, Eniola Badmus, I am still standing,” she said.
She also stressed that she respected differing political opinions, adding that she did not condemn people for supporting candidates of their choice.
“Everybody has the right to do whatever they want. It’s called democracy. Follow whoever you want to follow; I don’t criticise anyone for following whoever,” the actress added.
Badmus was among the celebrities who openly campaigned for Tinubu ahead of Nigeria’s 2023 general elections. She has maintained her public support for the president despite the criticism her political position has attracted online.
