Ambassador Oluwatosin David Aruna, the visionary behind the UK-based Nigerian fashion brand Teeclothiers, has been appointed as an ECOWAS Youth Ambassador, reflecting his dedication to youth empowerment and regional development.
Additionally, he has been honoured with the prestigious Nelson Mandela Leadership (NML) Award of Excellence and Integrity, recognising his outstanding contributions to society.
Ambassador Oluwatosin David Aruna expressed her gratitude after receiving the award and committed to maintaining the values of excellence and integrity that the award represents.
The Fashion Designer has, over the years, earned a reputation both locally and internationally.
According to the organisers, the Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity is given to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and unwavering integrity in their personal and professional lives, making Ambassador Oluwatosin David Aruna a deserving recipient of the award.
The West African-Youth Council (WEST-AFRICAN- YC; WAYC) was established in 2014 as a youth arm of the ECOWAS Commission. Its objective is to minimise the demanding challenges of youths in order to discharge efficient service delivery with the sole aim of engaging and promoting regional economic cooperation and integrations between 15 countries with different historical trajectories (colonisation, language, and administrative cultures) through cohort of youth hubs activities to the posterity of the sustainable development process of the West African region.
Aruna’s recent recognition as one of Nigeria’s Emerging Leaders 2024 by the West African Leadership and Empowerment Centre (WALEC) further highlights his potential to drive positive change in his community and beyond. Furthermore, his nomination for the T.I.M.E Special Recognition Award by the Young Entrepreneurs International Summit is a testament to his innovative approach to entrepreneurship and fashion design.
