Defending champions of the English Premier League (EPL), Manchester City regained season’s leadership from Arsenal for the first time in much of the season by beating Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage.
The Cityzens are now a point ahead of the Gunners, who will play Arsenal host Chelsea on Tuesday. While City have six more games to end the season, Arsenal have five more matches to turn the table and lift the elite title for the first time since 2004.
Also on Sunday, Newcastle retained their third spot on the EPL table after coming from a goal down to win 3-1 against Southampton at Saint James Park.
The Saints landed the first blow from a Stuart Armstrong goal minutes before half-time.
Substitute Callum Wilson bagged two goals for the Georgies and unlucky Theo Walcott netted in the wrong post completing Castle’s win.

The Glazers, who have saddled the club with huge debts, are assessing the offers of Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani and Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos group to buy United.
Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim wants to take 100 percent ownership, while it is understood that British billionaire Ratcliffe would buy just over 50 percent of United’s shares.
That would allow co-chairmen Joel and Avram Glazer to remain at the club, which would be hugely unpopular with large sections of the club’s fanbase.
