Ex-Ogun PDP chairman confirms role as Father-of-the-Day at 7th Penpushing Media anniversary lecture

An elder statesman, ChiefJoju Fadairo has confirmed his attendance of the seventh anniversary lecture of Penpushing Media as Father-of-the-Day. The event is scheduled to hold on 31 July 2025 at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

In a statement on Saturday, the editorial board and planning committee of the anniversary said that Dr. Fadairo, an accomplished businessman, who is also a member of the British Institute of Management, commended Penpushing Media, owners of online newspaper and television outfits, for adding value to journalism globally, which has earned the media organisation recognition, and equally become a household name in journalism world

The astute politician’s work experience began in 1962 at Niger Pool, Apapa, Lagos where he worked as a clerk, leaving in 1963 to work as a Stenographer at G. L. Grazer, Apapa till 1964.

Between 1964 and 1965, he also worked as a stenographer at Nigerian Steel Construction Company Limited, Apapa, and was Secretary at the library of University of Lagos Medical School, Idi-Araba from 1966 to 1967.

Fadairo also worked as Administrative Officer at African-American Institute, Lagos between 1967 and 1971 and became General Manager, Kampsax (Nigeria) Limited, Apapa, Lagos between 1974 and 1979.

Determined to make his mark, the Fiwagbayi of Egbaland launched into private business in 1979 and established several companies involved in construction, engineering, manufacturing, exploration, mining, mineral processing and industrial chemicals.

He remains the Chairman and Director of some of these companies till date, and has served the country in various capacities, including former Chairman of Governing Council, Yaba College of Technology, Lagos; member of Jos University Teaching Hospital; member of the Board of Directors at Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation, Abeokuta; and former Chairman of Wrought Iron (Nigeria) Limited, a member of Odu’a Group of Companies.

The elder statement, who is also the Asiwaju of Ifoland, and a former Ogun State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), holds membership of several learned societies which include the Nigerian Institute of Management and Institute of Directors, Nigeria.

He is a Fellow of the Certified Institute of Nigerian Economists, Fellow of the Institute of Supervision and Leadership (Nigeria) and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics, Ghana.

The octogenarian also belongs to different social clubs, including Ikeja Lions Club, Abeokuta Club, Lisabi Elite Club of Nigeria, Abeokuta Sports Club, Ifo Club, Egba Pentagon Club, Lagos Country Club and Mace Club of Nigeria, and has been honoured with several awards.
