Face to Peace Northern Youths of Nigeria, has called on President Bola Tinubu to extend a presidential pardon to the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, in the interest of national security.
Addressing a Press conference in Kaduna the National Chairman of the organisation Comrade Sani Ibrahim Mainasara, said
‘We believe that Abba Kyari has contributed immensely to curtailing kidnapping, banditry, and all other crimes across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria before his suspension.
‘His efforts have been instrumental in protecting the lives and properties of citizens, and his suspension has been a significant loss to the nation.
Nigeria is currently facing a severe security crisis, and we need individuals like Abba Kyari to come and rescue the nation. He has consistently demonstrated his commitment to protecting the nation and its citizens, and we believe that he should be given a second chance to continue serving the country.
We understand that Abba Kyari is not perfect, but he has been a valuable asset to the nation, and his contributions far outweigh his mistakes.
We are not challenging the government or fighting against the suspension, but we are begging the President to consider Abba Kyari’s performance and contributions to the nation.
The suspension of Abba Kyari has sent a discouraging message to other potential recruits who may be interested in joining the Nigerian police force.
‘If the government can suspend a dedicated officer like Abba Kyari, who is willing to make sacrifices for the nation, what hope is there for others who may want to join the force?
‘We urge President Tinubu to grant Abba Kyari a presidential pardon and allow him to continue serving the nation.
He has the potential to make a significant impact in the fight against crime and insecurity, and we believe that he should be given the opportunity to do so.
We are not alone in this call, as we have collaborated with various pressure groups and stakeholders who are willing to support our cause. If our request is not granted, we will mobilize a peaceful demonstration across the 19 northern states to show our solidarity with Abba Kyari and to demand justice.
‘We appeal to religious leaders, both Muslims and Christians, to support our cause and to urge the President to grant Abba Kyari a pardon. Abba Kyari’s efforts have benefited all Nigerians, regardless of their religion or ethnicity, and we believe that he deserves our support.
‘We urge President Tinubu to consider our request and to grant Abba Kyari a presidential pardon. We believe that this is in the best interest of national security and will help to boost the morale of security personnel across the nation.
