A former Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has broken his silence regarding the upcoming governorship election in the state.
At the All Progressives Congress (APC) end-of-year gathering held at his Isan Ekiti country home on Thursday, Fayemi publicly declared his support for Governor Oyebanji’s bid for a second term.
Addressing party-related matters, Fayemi said that the date for the 2026 Ekiti governorship election would be disclosed next April. He also encouraged anyone interested in challenging the incumbent governor to step forward.
Fayemi said: “I’m a democrat, so I can’t discourage anyone from contesting for the governorship ticket. Anybody who feels capable can contest.
“But what I’m saying is that as for me and my family, we are for Oyebanji’s second term”.
