Lagos International Festival of Animation (LIFANIMA) has announced a call for submissions of entries for its seventh edition.

LIFANIMA, which has grown to become the second largest animation film festival in Africa, is proudly supported by the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, The Embassy of France in Nigeria, and endorsed by the Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board.

Filmmakers and content producers are to submit their entries through the festival’s film freeway platform. Filmmakers are also requested to adhere to the entry criteria and indicate the rating of their films whether they are G, PG, PG 13 or 18.

“LIFANIMA provides the platform for development of African animation and rapid growth of the animation film industry”, said the Festival Director, Mr Muyiwa Kayode, who is also the creator of the multiple award-winning animation series, TURTLE TAIDO.

Over the years, LIFANIMA has seen a steady increase in submission of films across the categories of 2D animation, 3D animation, animation commercials, visual effects and stop motion.

The 2022 edition received over 1,000 films from more than 100 countries. 136 films made the final selection and were screened in the competitive and non- competitive categories.

The festival will feature screening of selected works, award presentation, networking and entertainment. It will also attract animators, local and foreign film makers, investors, financial institutions, advertising agencies, musical video producers, media practitioners, digital marketing professionals, government agencies, information technology companies/manufacturers and the general public.
