The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr. Shuaib Belgore has directed the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku to oversee the commission’s affairs until a new Board is constituted.
The memo, dated 21st June and addressed to Ogbuku, directed him to route all correspondence meant for the attention of the President through the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, who will liaise with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The Managing Director/CEO was also expected to provide weekly report on financial and procurement activities for onward transmission to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
On Monday, President Bola Tinubu approved the dissolution of Boards of Federal Government parastatals, agencies, institutions and government-owned companies.
The government clarified that the decision did not affect the Boards of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control.
