Nigeria’s Flamingos have been crowned champions of the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup after defeating Togo 4-0 in the final on Sunday.
Captain Harmony Chidi was the standout performer, scoring twice from the penalty spot in the first half to give Nigeria a commanding advantage.
Oluebube Umejiaku added a third goal in the 67th minute before Oluwakemi Adegbuyi completed the victory with a late strike in the 90th minute.
The triumph capped an impressive campaign for Akeem Busari’s side, who won all five of their matches, scoring 17 goals and conceding just two.
The Flamingos opened their campaign with a 5-0 victory over Niger Republic before defeating rivals Ghana 4-2.
They followed that result with a 2-0 win over Burkina Faso and another 2-0 victory against hosts Côte d’Ivoire.
Nigeria then produced another dominant display in the final to secure the WAFU B title without dropping a point throughout the tournament.
With the regional championship secured, the Flamingos will now shift their attention to the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
