Nigeria’s Flying Eagles international friendly against Egypt has been cancelled.
Both countries were earlier scheduled to face each other in a double-header friendly in Cairo on 25 February and 27 February.
The friendlies have now been called off after Nigeria and Egypt were drawn in the same group for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The draw was conducted at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, in Cairo on Thursday.
The Amajita of South Africa and Morocco are the other teams in the group
‘The Flying Eagles will no longer play the friendlies in Egypt after the draw pitched both of us in the same group,’ an NFF official told SCORENigeria.
Cote d’Ivoire will host the U-20 AFCON from Saturday, 26 April to Sunday, 18 May.
