Osun State Government has assured holidaymakers that travelled to the state with the free-train services it provided from Lagos, of hitch-free arrangements for their return trip.

This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Commerce, Mr Bunmi Jenyo, on Tuesday while receiving at the Osogbo train station, the second batch of holidaymakers that joined the ‘Imole free train service’ of the state government.

Jenyo, who expressed satisfaction with the feedback received by the government from the beneficiaries of the gesture, said arrangements had been concluded to return the holidaymakers to Lagos and other locations on Thursdays.

“We are satisfied with the feedback we have been receiving from the beneficiaries of this gesture. Those that arrived with this train are in the second batch. The first set of holidaymakers that Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, brought back to the State through this initiative, arrived Osogbo last Wednesday.

“But the return trip to Lagos is scheduled for Thursday. We have made adequate arrangements to make the return trip a rancour-free one,” Jenyo said.

Commenting further on the feedback from people regarding the initiative, the Commissioner, who expressed satisfaction with the enthusiasm displayed by the beneficiaries towards the free-train service, said the Adeleke-led administration would continue to place priority on the welfare of the people without minding the cost.

One of the beneficiaries of the free-train service, Abigail from Oyan, Osun State, lauded the initiative and urged the administration to sustain the service, as it has made a significant impact on the lives of many who have benefited from it.

She added, “This initiative is good and it has made a significant impact on the lives of people that have benefited from it. I could return home without minding the cost of transportation because of an opportunity such as this. Governor Adeleke should continue to fund it.”

A statement by the Information Officer, Ministry of Commerce, Ademiotan Adegbulugbe, obtained in Osogbo on Tuesday said the beneficiaries of the free-train service were not limited to holidaymakers returning to Osun alone, noting that many people going to other states have also been using the service during festive periods.
