The Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government of Kano State, Alhaji Ado Tambai has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje is from the council area. Ganduje served as the state governor between 2015 and 2023.
Tambai, who defected alongside other APC local council chairmen, said he is not happy with the party despite his loyalty to Ganduje.
Receiving the former APC council chairmen, the state governor, Mallam Abba Kabir Yusuf said that NNPP is home to any person wishing the state the best.
He welcomed the deflectors to the party and assured that they will work together with other NNPP members as one family.
“We are going to work with anybody who is ready to be onboard our salvation journey of a greater Kano and we will do that for a better state for everybody as one family”, the governor said.
