The two-day 9th Annual General Conference of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) opened Wednesday at the Radisson Blu in Ikeja, Lagos, with the theme: “Reconciling Campaign Promises with Governance Realities: Challenges and Prospects”.
During the business session, two GOCOP members made presentations. While the Publisher of Daily Post, Mr. James Bamisaye delivered a presentation on “Optimising Online Publishing Platforms”, the Publisher of New Express, Mr. Isaac Umunna spoke on “The Secret Behind Making Money in Online Publishing”.
Bamisaye stressed the importance of understanding the audience and tailoring content to meet their needs, while using data-driven strategies to boost site traffic.
He emphasised that online publishers must adapt quickly to changing algorithms and invest in digital marketing to stay ahead in the highly competitive online media environment.

The first presentation by the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), provided a deep dive into the role of research and development in supporting Nigeria’s media and publishing sector.
