Gombe gov dissolves cabinet, sets up transition committee

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya has dissolved his cabinet with a caveat that they would remain handy till Monday’s second term inauguration.

During the valedictory meeting at the council chamber at Government House, Gombe on on Friday, Yahaya said: “I hereby announce this cabinet is dissolved as of today. This is the last working day but as Mr President said you are still in government until we transit finally. So don’t be surprised I work here Saturday and Sunday, if I send for you kindly hurry and come there could be one or two things to explain or answer”.

While commending their individual efforts in ensuring the attainment of dividends of democracy, Yahaya said he had forgiven those who smeared the image of the government, without knowing.

“For the errors you made personally as a human being, to err is human and to forgive is divine. I have forgiven everybody not only you but any other person that offends me or tried to tarnish the image of this government for his selfish interest and I hope you too will forgive me”, the governor added.

The Commissioners of Justice and Attorney General of Zubair Umar; Information and Culture, Meshack Lauco; Education, Aishatu Maigari; and Agriculture, Getado Muhammad, all commended the governor for the opportunities they to contribute to the development of the state.

They noted that if given another opportunity they would wholeheartedly accept to contribute additional quota to the development of the state.

Yahaya also inaugurated an eleven-man 2023 Transition Committee, with retired Federal Permanent Secretary, Dr. Ibrahim Daudu as Chairman; and Director-General, Research and Documentation, Government House, Dr Mu’azu Shehu as  Secretary.
