Kaduna State Governor,  Senator Uba Sani has said that his administration’s commitment to excellence and innovation in healthcare delivery has resulted in national and international accolades.

At the commissioning of a pharma-grade warehouse at Makera on Wednesday, the governor said that the facility will lead to enhanced healthcare delivery, which would ultimately improve the health and well-being of the state’s citizens.

According to him, ‘our efforts have been recognised with 10 awards, both national and international, including the prestigious Excellence Award by the International Supply Chain Education Alliance’.

Sani emphasized that in the state, good healthcare is not a privilege but a fundamental human right, adding that the Primary Health Care (PHC) Leadership Challenge in Abuja had earlier ranked the state as the best in PHC in the North West zone.

He further said that the new pharma grade warehouse would lead to enhanced healthcare delivery, which would ultimately improve the health and well-being of the citizens of the state.

‘This warehouse is a symbol of our dedication to ensuring the continuous availability, efficient storage, and distribution of essential health commodities. By strengthening our supply chain, we are ensuring that life-saving medications and supplies reach every corner of our state’, he added.

The governor said that Kaduna State is one of the first states to pay the 15% counterpart funding for the warehouse upgrade, promising to renovate and upgrade identified warehouses in Zones 1 and 3 to Pharma Grade standard.

According to Sani, upgrading the zonal warehouses will further improve accessibility of quality drugs to the good people of the state.

He expressed gratitude to development partners like the Global Fund and UNICEF, as well as Fidson Healthcare and Emzor Group for their support.

Sani further said that, while Fidson Healthcare played a key role in organising the storage system in the warehouse, Emzor Group provided insurance coverage for the facility.

The governor added that ‘their contributions have enabled the Kaduna State Health Supplies Management Agency to mature and ready to integrate’.
