Manchester City are facing concerns over the fitness of striker Erling Haaland after he limped off during Norway’s UEFA Nations League clash with Portugal on Sunday.
Haaland requested to be substituted in the second half and was replaced by Jørgen Strand Larsen in the 67th minute.
The striker had played the full 90 minutes in each of Norway’s previous three matches during the international break before being withdrawn against Portugal.
Haaland scored twice in Norway’s 3-2 victory over Denmark before finding the net again in their 2-1 defeat to Portugal in their first meeting.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to the season, scoring seven goals in seven appearances for Manchester City across all competitions.
His latest injury concern comes at an important stage of the campaign, with City facing a trip to Anfield.
The club could also be without Phil Foden, who is serving a red-card suspension, while Nico O’Reilly and Antoine Semenyo are reportedly doubts for the fixture.
City will now await further assessment of Haaland’s condition to determine whether he will be available for the trip to Liverpool.
