A group of hotel owners in Ondo state have called for the intervention of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa over unpaid debts for services rendered by their organisations to the state during the last governorship election in the state.
The governorship election in Ondo State was held on Saturday, 16 November 2024.
According to the hotel owners, the protocol department of the state government requested their services ahead of the election.
‘Ahead of the election, the state government requested our services, which were fully rendered. But for months now, we have been pleading with the officials for the money to be paid, all our entreaties have fallen on deaf ears’.
The group’s spokesperson, who pleaded for anonymity, said the hoteliers are convinced that the governor may not be aware of the matter.
‘We are very sure that the governor may not be aware of this problem. We know him to be a listening person. It is for that reason that we are using this medium to appeal to him to rescue us. Some of us are already in debt as a result of the unpaid bills. Let him come to our rescue’, he pleaded.
