The Edo State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Asue Ighodalo has reiterated his total and unwavering commitment to the welfare of workers in the state.

In his message to commemorate Workers’ Day, the PDP candidate said: “We will sustain and even take your welfare a notch higher than it is now, if we assume leadership of our dear state come 12 November 2024. I am excited about the opportunities ahead of us and the impact we will make in our state, working together”.

His full statement: “On this auspicious occasion of May Day, which is Workers’ Day worldwide, I want to congratulate you and to also express my heartfelt appreciation to each and every one of you for the hard work, dedication, and commitment you demonstrate every day at your various work places, either as a public servant or a private employee, working to keep our state’s economy going in Edo.

“As you celebrate today, I call on you to reflect on the legacies of our heroes past, and how to sustain them as we forge ahead in our quest to create a first world sub-national state within the Nigerian federation. I know that with you, our vision and dream of creating an Edo State that will set the pace in terms of progress, development and prosperity is achievable. Only remain focus, consistent and don’t be deceived by those who seek to retard our pace as we move toward a defining moment in our state’s history.

“Let today be an occasion to reflect on the progress we’ve made towards building a fair, safe, and equitable workplace for all and so reaffirm our commitment to ensuring a positive work environment for everyone in the years ahead.

“My commitment to your welfare is total and unwavering. We will sustain and even take your welfare a notch higher than it is now, if we assume leadership of our dear state come 12 November 2024. I am excited about the opportunities ahead of us and the impact we will make in our state, working together.

“Finally, I urge you all to be moderate and measured in your celebration, knowing that too much of everything is bad. May God bless you all, and may God bless Edo State”.
