The Interim Management Committee (IMC) has announced a new name and logo for the Nigerian top flight league.
Now known as the Nigeria Premier League (NPL), it was called interchangeably Nigeria Professional Football League or Nigeria Premier Football League.
The new name and logo were unveiled during the draw ceremony for the 2022-23 NPL Super Six playoff.
The NPFL Super Six playoff will commence in Lagos on Saturday to conclude the season after six teams emerged from the two groups of the regular season. From Group A are Bendel Insurance, who set a record by going through the 18 matches unbeaten; Enyimba and Remo Stars; while Group B have defending champions Rivers United, Lobi Stars and Sunshine Stars.
It will run from 3rd to 11th June.

The champions and first runners-up will represent Nigeria in next season’s CAF Champions League, while No. 3 will feature in the CAF Confederation Cup together with the winners of the Federation Cup. The final of that competition will have Bendel Insurance and Rangers go head-to-head.
