The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented the certificates of return to the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and vice president-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima.
The certificates were issued and presented at the International Collation Centre in Abuja on Wednesday.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu was declared winner of the 25February election.
The former Lagos State governor polled 8,794,726 votes to emerge victorious.
The INEC National Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu announced Tinubu as the winner at the International Collation Centre in Abuja.
Declaring Tinubu as the winner, the INEC boss, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu said: “That Tinubu Bola Ahmed of the APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and returned elected”.
Tinubu won the election ahead of other contenders — the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; the Labour Party candidate, Mr Peter Obi; and the New Nigeria Peoples Party candidate, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Tinubu and Atiku won 12 states each, while Obi won 11 plus the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Kwankwaso claimed only Kano State.
