ISWAP-planted IED kills 8 CJTF members

No fewer than eight members of the Civilian Joint Task Force ( CJTF ) have been killed by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Gamborun local Government Area of Borno State.

It was gathered that the victims instantly died after they stepped on a landmine suspected to have been planted by the ISWAP on Saturday, 27 April 2024, on their way to Maiduguri from Gamborun Ngala.

Intelligence sources according to a Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama, revealed that three other victims sustained various degrees of injuries.

The wounded according to the sources were evacuated to the hospital, while the eight CJTF who paid the supreme price were taken to their families for burial arrangements.
