Popular fuji musician, Ayinde Marshal (popularly known as K1 De Ultimate), did not see it coming when his wife, alongside some of his family members and friends, took it upon themselves to celebrate him with a surprise party to mark his 66th birthday

The event, which was majorly organised by his wife, Emmanuella, was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel on Victoria Island, Lagos.

At the event, K1 described it as a coup planned right under his nose. He noted that he had just returned from a trip to congratulate the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He said: “If this is what you call a surprise, then I think I got caught in the most well-organised plan. We travelled to Abuja and we returned, and everybody bid me ‘good night’, urging me to go and rest. However, something told me that I should not go to bed yet. After a while, they said we should all go for dinner”.

At the event, family and friends were allowed to talk about the birthday boy and wish him well. The party was anchored by MC Ajele.

Another highlight of the event was when K1’s personal assistant, Kaycee Ayinde mimicked his boss to the delight of guests present.

While giving his appreciation speech, the Ade Ori Okin singer thanked everyone who attended, and his wife, for being the brain behind the secret event.

Guests at the event included the Chairman of Oriade Local Council Development Area, Ramotalai Akinola; presiding Shepherd of Celestial Church of Christ Genesis Global, Oladele Ogundipe; Executive Chairman of Isolo Local Council Development, Bayo Olasoju; and Chairman of the Lagos State Park and Garages Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo).
