Alhaji Saidu Ibrahim has resumed office as the new Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, Katsina State.
This followed the retirement of the former NYSC Coordinator, Hajiya Aisha Muhammad, from active service on Friday after attaining the civil service mandatory age of 60 years.
During a brief handover ceremony in Katsina on Friday, the new Coordinator appealed for more support and synergy among staff to achieve the scheme’s mandate in the state.
Ibrahim promised to run an open-door policy, assuring that he would prioritise the welfare of staff and corps members.
“Katsina State is my second home, being that I had part of my secondary education in Katsina,” he said.
Earlier, the outgoing Coordinator, Aisha, thanked the Katsina State government for its support, which resulted in most of the achievements recorded during her tenure.
She described the new coordinator as an experienced officer and called on all stakeholders, staff, and corps members to give him the required support and cooperation to succeed in the tasks ahead.
