Residents of Keffi Local Government Area in Nasarawa State are crying out for justice after being allegedly defrauded of over ₦3 million by a woman trader, Rofiat Aliyu Onimisi, who promised to supply them with NAPEP tricycles.

The victims, Suleiman Adamu and Abubakar Mahmoud, claim Aliyu collected ₦1.9 million and ₦1.7 million, respectively, but failed to deliver the tricycles or refund the money.

Adamu stated that Aliyu approached him with a proposal to supply NAPEP tricycles, an offer he accepted before transferring ₦1.9 million to her. Upon discovering that the transaction was fraudulent, he reported the matter to a court in Keffi.

Although Aliyu was arrested, she was later granted bail, and the case was allegedly transferred from Akwanga to Mararaba, with no significant progress since then.

Mahmoud, a resident of Keffi, also fell victim to Aliyu’s scheme, losing ₦1.7 million. He expressed concern over the prolonged delay in the case, alleging collaboration between Aliyu and some judicial officials, which has stalled justice.

The victims are appealing to the Nasarawa State Governor and the Commissioner of Police to intervene and help them recover their money.
