The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign has announced the composition of its Media and Communication Directorate.
The directorate, which was approved by the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on Sunday, comprised three departments namely Public Affairs, Media and Publicity, and Strategic Communication.
A statement by the media team in Abuja stated that the Minister of State for Labour, Barrister Festus Keyamo SAN is expected to continue his role as spokesman of the campaign in his capacity as the Director of Public Affairs.
The Managing Director of TheNEWS/PM News Mr Bayo Onanuga will continue his role as Director of Media and Publicity. He was Managing Director of News Agency of Nigeria.
A former Lagos State Commissioner for Information and and Strategy, Mr Dele Alake will serve as Director of Strategic Communication. He also served a similar role for the Muhammadu Buhari campaign in 2014-15.
The Directorate will also have six deputy directors that include Deputy Director in charge of Communication Strategy, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu; Deputy Director of Public Affairs, Hannatu Musawa; and Deputy Director of Media Relations, Hon. Kehinde Bamigbetan.
Others include Deputy Director of Media and Publicity, Mallam Modibbo Kawu; Director of Multi-media, Mr Mohammed Bulama; and Deputy Director of New Media, Mr Seun Olufemi-White.
The tripodal arrangement, first in a presidential campaign, has a line of other assistant directors and senior officials, representing the nation’s various regions with job specifications spelt out.
According to the media team, representatives and spokesmen in all the states of the federation under the campaign structure will soon be announced.
