Kidnapping: Evans bags 21-year imprisonment

Billionaire kidnapper, Evans (full name: Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike) has been sentenced to 21 years imprisonment the Ikeja Special Offences Court in Lagos.

Evans and his co-defendant, Victor Aduba were found guilty of conspiring and kidnapping Sylvanus Ahanonu Hafia on 23 June 2014 at Kara Street, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.

The duo were were alleged to have captured and detained Hafia and demanded a ransom of $2 million.

Although they pleaded not guilty to the four charges, they were found guilty by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo

The judge held that the sentence would serve as a deterrent to other aspiring kidnappers.

Evans was arrested in June 2017 at his Magodo, Lagos residence.
