Nigerian singer, Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe (better known as Kizz Daniel) has apologised for failing to perform at a show in Tanzania on Sunday.

Fans trashed the venue of the show in anger at the non-appearance of the singer, who was subsequently arrested. The fans waited in vain till 6 am for a live performance.

At a press conference on Tuesday night streamed on the show promoter’s Instagram page, #str8upvibes_, the Buga crooner explained his side of the story, apologised and promised a free show for Friday.

He said: “This Friday, a free show by the way, I will be partnering with Straight Up Vibes to make that happen.

“I must apologize to the fans. None of this was intentional”.

Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, (NIDCOM), Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa said that the Nigerian government secured the artiste’s release on Monday.

Reacting to a tweet on Monday night from a twitter user pleading for the Federal Government’s intervention, Dabiri-Erewa wrote: “KD has been released.

“His legal team will however report back to the police tomorrow while he will subsequently return back to Nigeria”.

The singer was reported to have arrived in Tanzania earlier but refused to perform because of unavailability of his clothes.

A viral video on Twitter shows the singer wearing a black hoodie while being escorted into a Tanzanian police van.
