Two additional pilgrims from Kwara State, Salman Alade and Ayishat Ologele, have reportedly died while on pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The pilgrims were among the thousands of Nigerians who travelled to the holy land to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.

Their deaths followed that of two other pilgrims, Saliu Mohammed, who arrived with the third batch of the state contingent, and Hawawu Mohammed, which were reported in Madinah.

The latest report took the death toll among the Kwara pilgrims to four.

It was gathered, Ologele fell ill while travelling from Medina to Mecca and died afterwards, while Alade fell ill in Mecca and passed away as well.

While the exact causes of their deaths had not been officially confirmed, it was believed that they died of natural causes.

The development was confirmed by the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board in Saudi Arabia.

The board commiserated with the families of two pilgrims as the Executive Secretary, Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, expressed condolences to the families, asking Allah to grant them comfort and forgive the deceased.
