The Lagos State Government has commenced the 2023 promotion exercise for officers on Grade Levels 01-16 in parastatal organisations as well as those on Grade Levels 01-05 in the mainstream public service under the Revised Structured Training Programme.
The exercise, which started on Monday, is being held concurrently at the Public Service Staff Development and Women Development Centre and will end on 24th July.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mr. Olawale Musa, who flagged off the exercise, said the revised structured training programme was introduced to replace the written promotion examination, which used to be the yardstick for promotion, according to a statement on Monday.
Musa said the training would help officers in their career progression and implored officers to be attentive and take what would be taught seriously.
“The training comprises sessions which are aimed at enlightening officers on the activities of the state government and job-specific sessions to have more robust exercise in addition to the generic training.
“At the PSSDC, there will be one training session with a series of sub-sessions for officers on Grade Levels 10-16 and this will run from Monday to Friday except Wednesday and Thursday, which will be for job-specific sessions.
“The Women Development Centre will have two sessions for officers on Grade Levels 1-5″, the statement added.
