The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has declared the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of all 20 Local Government Areas’ (LGAs) chairmanship positions in the Saturday’s elections.
The APC, which also controls the Federal Government, secured all 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) chairmanship seats, consolidating its dominance across the state’s structures.
In addition to the chairmanship victories, the APC swept 375 councillorship positions, leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with only a single councilor seat.
Announcing the winners at the commission’s office in Yaba on Sunday, LASIEC Chairperson, Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (rtd.) congratulated the election winners, urging them not to be carried away by the celebrations, but to view their victory as a call to serve.
‘My words to the winners in the election is that this is not only a call for celebration but for service to the people who voted for them’, she said.
