With pomp and pageantry, members of the Lagos chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) turned out en masse at the weekend in a carnival-like walk to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Institute.
In a statement by the premier chapter’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Samuel Adeyemi, the event, themed ‘Walk for Economic Transformation’, commenced in front of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria House, Ikeja, and concluded at the JJT Park in Alausa, Ikeja.
On the significance of the walk, chaper chairperson, Mrs. Comfort Obot Nwankwo, emphasised the critical role of the Public Relations profession in driving economic transformation.
She stressed that Nigerian policymakers must urgently prioritise public relations as a pivotal tool for transforming the nation’s fortunes.
The diamond celebration was commemorated simultaneously across all 36 states.
