The Lagos State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has concluded arrangements to hold the seventh edition of the Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Award (LaPRIGA). The leading and most populated branch of the Institute in the country and their guests will storm D’podium International Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos, on Friday, 2nd December from 5 pm.

The theme for this year’s edition is: “Hall of Fame”. And it has about 120 entries – the highest number of entries since its inception.

On the event, Lagos NIPR Chairperson, Mrs Comfort Nwankwo said: This event is proof of our commitment to maintain leadership in professionalism and excellence. It promises to be a night of glamour, elegance, joy, class, and celebrations exclusively for the communications industry with the most influential stakeholders.

“The entries for this year’s award in the various categories have been encouraging. We will be recognising Public Relations practitioners, stakeholders, and organizations that have through their activities contributed to the essence of this profession and the development of the industry.

“One of the high points of this year’s award will be the induction of previous winners of the PR Practitioner of the Year Category. This category is the numero uno of the LAPRIGA Award.

“Since inception, we have had six winners of that category. The 7th person will emerge at this year’s LAPRIGA. We are doing this to engender healthy competition among PR Practitioners. Any outstanding member of NIPR can win in this category”.

The LaPRIGA has consistently recognised corporate organisations for their extraordinary act of giving and loving, which has made a demonstrable difference in host communities and in the lives of specific persons. These prizes are administered by the Advisory Board of LaPRIGA comprising individuals of impeccable character and requisite academic and professional accomplishments.
